Bernard Foley focused on lifting the gloom Rieko Ioane and Ryan Crotty both crossed twice as New Zealand ran in eight tries in a brilliant display of running rugby to demolish Australia in the Rugby Championship opener on Saturday. The world champions extinguished any chance of an upset with three tries in seven first-half minutes and sliced through the home defence almost at will in the opening 50 to start their title defence with a bonus-point win. The Wallabies scored tries through debutant winger Curtis Rona, replacement back Tevita Kuridrani, centre Kurtley Beale and full-back Israel Folau, but they came in the second half once the game was already beyond them. Kieran Read walks off a victorious captain Credit: AFP “It was pretty surreal that first half to be honest. We came here to play our game and it really came off. It was a pretty awesome first half,” New Zealand captain Kieran Read said.

There is a small, but powerful group of individuals who are the architects and instigators behind the formation and implementation of this “New World Order”. A government run by the same small group of elite that have ruled the masses for a very long time under various guises. These elite are the descendents of those that ruled for at least the past two centuries – kings and queens, bankers, robber barrons, priests, and assorted subservient oligarchs and media representatives.
Their desire for a return to a one world feudal state should come as no surprise to anyone who has read a little history. It is their nature after all. The undisputible fact remains that the people who are working towards it do, as evidenced by their own writings. New Zealand was originally settled by Polynesians from Eastern Polynesia. Genetic and archaeological evidence suggests that humans emigrated from Taiwan to Melanesia and then travelled east through to the Society Islands ; after a pause of 70 to years, a new wave of exploration led to the discovery and settlement of New Zealand.
This was not possible in the south of the South Island, but wild plants such as fernroot were often available and cabbage trees were harvested and cultivated for food. Warfare also increased in importance, reflecting increased competition for land and other resources. As elsewhere in the Pacific, cannibalism was part of warfare.

About Sydney Contemporary Starkwhite will present a group show at Sydney Contemporary, from September, featuring the work of pioneer experimental filmmaker and kinetic artist Len Lye, along with works by contemporary practitioners Rebecca Baumann, Seung Yul Oh and Michael Zavros. New Zealand born artist Len Lye is recognised internationally as a pioneer in the field of experimental film and kinetic art. Our presentation will focus on his kinetic work with two key sculptures – Rotating Harmonic and Roundhead From one simple steel rod, Lye coxes the fundamental principles of harmonic motions that underlie his work.
Rebecca Baumann explores the relationship between colour, light and time in her work, notably in her ongoing series of automated colour fields. The ACFs consist of grids of split-panel flip clocks, each with the number cards replaced with cards of solid colour. The result is a vast and affecting and constantly changing field of colour.
Like changing numbers on a clock, the cards flip on each clock on the minute on the right hand side and on the hour on the left hand side — revealing the endless combinations of the palette. Yet while Baumann draws from an understanding of the art historical role of colour, her focus remains a study of how colour elicits emotions.

San Francisco Becomes the Cable Car City. The cable car was born in San Francisco on a characteristic San Francisco summer day – cold, dreary, and foggy.
Christchurch Moving On Though ChristChurch Cathedral will almost certainly be restored to former glory, the fate of other heritage buildings, indeed the future of the city itself, is less clear. Beverley Studios, a heritage building once standing on the far corner, was declared safe by an engineer, despite the partial collapse of adjoining buildings in the quake. But in a surprise twist, owners Marg and Peter Straw got word one evening that their building would be demolished the next day.
They were given half an hour to remove what they needed. The building was gone by midday. The seismic performance of unreinforced masonry was severely tested in these historic Opawa flats. Brittle mortar did little to bind the bricks which were jolted by a horizontal force almost twice that of gravity. Modern regulations to which heritage buildings will be rebuilt require brick structures to be dampened and steel-reinforced. It is as though Titans have wrestled and stumbled among the buildings.
Now, in the aftermath, traffic cones and steel safety fencing stand amid pooled water, and polythene barrier tape hangs limply in the morning drizzle.

I highly recommend the hop on hop off bus for a great orientation. The highlight for me was the Gaudi Cathedral, closely followed by the Ramblas and numerous museums. What a remarkable country – much greener than I was expecting with friendly people, great food and fascinating sights. I highly recommend the riad experience – a type of accommodation that we do not have in New Zealand. Palais Sebban Riad was one of the many highlights of my trip. I would love the time to explore both countries more in the future, especially Spain where I saw so little of the country.
In Morocco I would have loved extra time to stay in a desert camp and visit the Atlantic Coast city of Essaouira Riad Palais Sebban, Marrakech Team member: The group were from many NZ centres from Dunedin to Auckland and all met up for our Etihad Airlines flight where they travelled together from Sydney. There is a timelessness which is captured and as we visited incredible ancient temples such as Kom Ombo our busy world was a million miles away.
